Waterborne Wood Floor Finishing System
Application Instructions
FLOOR
PREPARATION (For all staining methods listed):
1. Sand entire floor as
recommended by NOFMA.
2. Vacuum up all dust and
remove all dust sources completely.
3. Tack entire floor with dry
towel until all dust is removed.
NOTE: Test stain on hidden area to verify desired
color. Wood grain variations, sanding
and stain application method will affect stain color.
STIR
STAIN BEFORE AND DURING USE.
BUFFER APPLICATION

T-Bar, TAP2 T-Bar Sleeve or TAP3 Trim Pad

Buffer (175 RPM)
White
buffing pad
Cotton
towels or rags
Burlap
bags (optional)
BUFFER
APPLICATION:
1. Apply 6910 WearMax Stain in
the direction of the grain using the T-Bar or Trim Pad in a snow plow motion.
2. Buff stain with buffer and
white pad until stain is completely buffed in.
3. Buff corners and edges by
hand with cotton towels or rags.
Uneven
stained areas can be spot treated by applying stain in light areas and buffing
even. For less grain raise and smoother
finish, use burlap bags in place of white pad.
WIPING APPLICATION

WIPING
APPLICATION:
1. Apply WearMax 6910 Stain in
the direction of the grain using the T-Bar or Trim Pad in a snowplow motion.
2. Wipe stain into floor with
slightly stain-dampened towel or rag in circular motion, and then wipe stain
off with dry towel or rag in the direction of the grain.
3. Use a digital moisture meter
to ensure stain is dry before applying finish (2-3 hours).
4. For best results buff stain
when dry with maroon pad before applying WearMax Ceramic Finishing System or
WearMax Starting Line System.
Helpful
Hint: On soft woods, such as pine, walnut, cherry, etc., Do Not Let Stain Sit
Too Long. Buff out soon after
application.
Once Stain is dry, walk on
in SOCKED FEET ONLY for first 24
hours!
Clean
up: Clean applicators thoroughly between coats, using water.
